Coomealla planned water supply interruptions – August 2025
Location of works: Lateral 30 (Parraweena Rd, between Alba Rd and Mulga Rd)
Coomealla customers are advised of planned water supply interruptions in August 2025 due to critical infrastructure upgrades on Lateral 30.
Why this work is important:
WMI is undertaking a scheduled pipeline replacement and upgrade program based on pipeline condition reports, past failures and hydraulic modelling. The program will commence by replacing the last remaining section of HOBAS pipe in Coomealla – a high priority due to age and condition. These upgrades will improve long-term network reliability and performance.
Shutdown Schedule:
The following dates are subject to change. Updates will be provided as works progress.
Stage 1:
Date: 13 – 15 August 2025.
Affected areas: These works affect a large area of Coomealla as highlighted on the map in pink and blue.
Roads Affected: Tilba, Paraweena, Mulga, Allomba, Alba, Fletchers Lake, Reserve, Cudgee, Comebunyee, Panaroo.
Work: Installation of new offtake valve and thrust blocking for Lateral 30 from Lateral 26.
Stage 2:
Date: 20 August 2025.
Affected area: These works affect a large area of Coomealla as highlighted on the map in pink and blue.
Roads Affected: Tilba, Paraweena, Mulga, Allomba, Alba, Fletchers Lake, Reserve, Cudgee, Comebunyee, Panaroo.
Work: Isolate old offtake valve at Lateral 30.
Stage 3:
Date: 21 – 22 August 2025.
Affected area: highlighted on the map in blue.
Roads Affected: Tilba, Paraweena, Mulga, Allomba.
Work: Installation of Mulga Rd and Lateral 30 connection points, outlets and air valves.
What you need to know
· Please observe all traffic and safety signs near Parraweena Road. There will be workers and heavy equipment on site.
· Customers are strongly advised to have at least two weeks of water storage to cover stock and garden needs during outages or water quality interruptions.
· Water tanks not only provide supply during shutdowns but also allow time for water to settle before use.
· Landlords must inform tenants of these planned water delivery interruptions and assist with backup water supply if required.
