Upgrade of Stock & Garden Water Meters – 28 April 2026

WMI is upgrading its 32mm and 50mm stock & garden water meters, replacing older mechanical meters with modern digital meters.

This upgrade will allow meter readings to be collected more regularly and efficiently using drive-by technology.

What this means for you:

· Installation is quick and straightforward, typically taking around one hour

· A digital display showing meter readings and live flow (litres per hour)

· Monthly meter readings, providing more regular usage information

· Access to your monthly water use via the customer portal

· Improve accuracy of water measurement, especially at low usage levels

This upgrade also completes the standardisation of WMI’s meter fleet in line with the NSW Non-Urban Metering Policy and Australian Standards.

Timing and rollout:

Installation will commence this week in Coomealla, starting with customers supplied by the re-lift pump station. Remaining meters in Coomealla will be upgraded progressively over the coming months, followed by Curlwaa and Buronga.

There should be minimal disruption to your water supply during installation. Our team will contact you if access to your meter is required.
